I sure hope this is not the case. You are right, a flooded vehicle can be nothing but trouble. I had checked it thoroughly. I pulled the carpets and the padding underneath seems perfect. No funny smells.

I wonder if this is an ECU issue, even though there is no fault in the memory...
The dealer think that this is not the case...And they have recoded it after they install the new injector...But I do not trust anyone anymore..
I will get to the bottom of this someday. And I will post the results.

Dum spiro spero..
Hi, just wondering if you had a proper fix to your car problems

they just can't tell which one not least as there's no fault codes to point them in any direction never mind the right one.
I am sure when I was looking through VIDA there is a test that allows you to cut out each injector, one at a time when connected through DICE. I am sure one of the others could confirm. It should be very easy to then identify if it is an injector and then which one.

Default No throttle response.

I am now at breaking point.

My problems started about 18 months ago when my V50 diesel suddenly had very little throttle response, approx 1200 rpm very rough. I bought the car second hand and had it about 16 months (alternator went at 13 months £370 approx). I was recovered to a local Volvo specialist. Diagnosed small wiring fault. No codes no fault lights on dash.

Fault reset, car ran ok for about 6 months then same symptoms this time in the outside lane of the M5 (child and wife in the car very scary) . Recovered back to specialist. Again No codes. Reset ran ok for about 4 months.

Broke down again same symptoms this time hurrah a fault code. #4 injector replaced £370 approx. Ok for about 2 months.

Engine management computer diagnosed and replaced £1000 ouch. Ok 1 month.

Broke down again same story. #4 injector code. This time #3 swapped with #4. This time lasted a week end (only because I didn't use it).

Same story code for #4 again. Wiring replaced to #4 injector.

Today was the first time I took it out and it did not feel good. There was a slight splutter on return home.

I needed an estate so I could easily transport my grandson and his wheelchair. I thought that Volvos were the best and most reliable. I am beginning to regret the decision to buy one. I take that back, I thoroughly regret my decision to buy a Volvo.

Thats rather sad really as by saying that you are saying that all or most volvos are trouble , I'm sorry you have had so much bother but it probably stems from someone previously doing some bodges to compromise how volvo built the car and inheriting someone elses problems . I have heard of a couple of volvo 2.0D cars with these kinds of problems and they had been through floods .The vast majority of volvos are as you expected them to be when you bought your car ..
