I was only thinking of what's been on here before, like this thread......http://www.volvoforums.org.uk/showth...ht=wiper+motor

sorry, I think I jumped the gun on this by fitting and commenting on them during daylight.

When night fell the bulbs were a crisp white colour and the light emitted is spot on.

Just out of interest, can you purchase a 5000k kit then later replace the bulbs with a different colour temp to the original ballasts?

Yeah, you can replace the HID bulbs & use existing ballasts.

Incidentally, OEM colour temp is 4300K & will look a little green in the daytime.

This is confusing me a little, in the diagram is it suggesting to ground it on the middle point (labeled) or not and that it should be grounded to the left point (not labeled)?

Mine is grounded to the left point and has been since the install and has been problem free throughout...

No. It says not to ground the hids via the headlight wiring. The diagram is showing you where to ground it to the chassis (strut top).

still no further forward here.

HIDS4U sent me both a relay harness to run the HIDS from the battery and ground to the suspension strut, and they've also sent me 2 bulb warning cancellers that plug straight into the ballast (despite me having the ultimate kit anyway).

I've tried wiring the kit in on its own through the headlight wiring, through the headlight wiring with the cancellers installed, through the supplied harness on its own, and through the wiring harness with the cancellers fitted and I've still got a lo beam bulb warning on my dash. Running out of ideas with this one.

Its a 59 plate R Design so from what i've read drilling the shunt isn't going to work either as it has a different ECM to the non facelifts.

The only very last thing I can think of is its something to do with me still having active DRLs, however I dont want to go and pay £40+ at the dealer deactivating my DRLs to find that it hasn't worked either.

Dont really understand why my v50 is getting a bulb warning message when other people have done the same thing without any warnings.

HIDS4U say its 'unheard of' to install the ultimate kit with the wiring harness and still get a bulb out warning.

Just for the record, both lights are working properly without any flickering or strobing, just this bloody warning light on the dash.

I would just bite the bullet & get them deactivated anyway.
You can still leave the headlamp switch set to dipped beam & the lights come on when ignition is on. Effectively this acts as DRL's.

I thought DRL's could not be switched off at dealers, as under new EU laws they can't turn something off that is deemed a safety feature?
