Its not a software issue. A dealer will be able to check what software is installed and upgrade if necessary.

As I've previously said, you have no ABL button that means you have "Dual-Xenon" headlights, not "Active Bending Xenon" headlights.

If you have VIDA/DICE yourself you can alter the angle of the lights to left or right, if not you need to ask the dealer to do it for you while they're checking the software.

If its been to a dealer from 2010 onwards the updated software must have been installed while it was there ...

Yes, Volvo dealers are supposed to update vehicle software wheneve the car is in for service work. Our new to us 2007 XC90 (with full Volvo history) behaves like this.

With the ignition in position 2, press and hold the ABL button for a few seconds until the following appears in the information display: Headlights set for RH traffic.

To switch back repeat the process and the message will change to "Headlights set for LH traffic"

The reference to RH and LH is to do with the side of the road driven on and not Right hand or Left hand drive.

Hope this helps.

Thanks all for all your help with this, back with the motor now, so I will attached a few pics in a bit, I don't think its seen a Volvo dealer for a few years, so if its needs Volvo to set it, do they need to meet me at Dover to change it as I board the ferry and then when I get back, (joke)

They don't look like the Active Bending Lights I'm afraid. Don't know how those ones work, but I think one of the posts above suggests they can be switched manually with a screw type switching process?

Those are the older bi xenon lights and there is no way of adjusting the light pattern left to right other than to use the beam deflectors that stick on. The active ones are projector style xenon lights where as what you have (and mine) are reflector style ones.

Thanks for confirming that for me, I've read that the stick on ones can ruin the headlamps but I've used them on my last 2 cars Passat and Cashqui no problem, any advise. Thanks Pete.
