Sound a new unused Volvo OEM one on eBay for £33.
Going to give it a try, see what happens.

Out of interest, do you get a clunk when shifting into reverse?

Ok thanks.

Not really a clunk when selecting reverse although there does seem a little too much vibration when in reverse. Not sure what is normal really but the vibration is more in reverse than you ever get in Drive.

I changed my torque mount this morning, the old one was in really bad shape, it had almost no rubber bushing left in one of the joints so had more plan in it than a young Essex boy.

Unfortunately this has made no difference at all, I still have a clunk when moving into reverse and also when taking my foot off the gas from over 1500rpm (the critical bit of info I believe).

So, back to square one, I reckon the front vacuum mount should be next on my list of things to replace? Don't you think?

I have the same problems and have done the top mount and front torque mount with no difference. Do you get a lot of cabin vibration too? Theres a right hand engine mount that may be worth changing before the vac mounts.....

There is vibration but it's a D5 so I expect some, I can't remember if it vibrated less. My other car is a BMW 330ci and that's silky smooth so it kind of warps my opinion of what it should be like.

I'll see if I can get a good view of the RH engine mount as you suggest.

IMHO you are now looking at a pair of xc90 driveshaft bolts, I think it is very likely you have "axle ping" caused by loose driveshaft bolts.
Again IMHO the definitive fix is XC90 bolts.
It's going to be another £30.00 ish, but with that new torque mount AND top engine mount fitted there's a fair chance of success!

130k, time to spend some money!

Marked C in next photo. Front only as C is front and rear.

Does anyone have a list of what Volvo numbers go with A, B, etc? I wass googling to find this info and wound up here again

I have the clunk and the engine sits too low (autobox almost touches the rubber stop right side), so I will be replacing B, D and C (behind the engine).
But also consider replacing A, and if so possibly also J and K...

Does anyone ever replace E,F,G,H?

And two more Q's:
(1) I have a gearing noise when cornering fast, could this be related to the engine/gearbox moving too far?

(2) I replaced C in front, but I thought both front and rear were the same... Now I keep running across sites and pictures that mention/show a difference!
So how do I know if I put the correct one in front of the engine???

E,F,G, H are subframe mounts/bushes. They should be done if warn.

Rather than replace the sub frame bushes.... try poly inserts for those. They are cheaper and far easier to insert than replace each bush. They tighten the frame up, like replacing the bushes. Far less time consuming for the same result.

Mine are done this way.
