Yup! 100mph in a smidge under 11 seconds and 12.5 second 1/4 miles @ 110+ mph.
0-60 in 4.5 too. Mercedes are very conservative in their figures, they quote it as 4.8. lol.
Oh and the best bit..... (apart from the posey roof of course) it does all that on 95 ron fuel!
Later,
Dan.

Default Injectors

Stuart must be running those at around 82% duty cycle. With around 50psig fuel pressure

Regards

Iain

Ok so if those values are correct by my calculations using standard fuel pressure NO volvo injectors would be able to produce enough cc/min to produce 375bhp.

These calculations are based on:

Brake specfic fuel comsumption : 0.62 (anything else would be too lean)
Maxium Injector duty cycle: 80%
System fuel pressure @ fuel rail: 43.5psi (thanks dan)

Seems to get anywhere near 375bhp you would need injectors capable of producing 585cc/min to run that kinda power.

This is based most injectors maxin out at 80% duty cycle which i believe is the accepted industry standard.

So if i wanted to push up to that kinda power i would need to change injectors.

Iain

Hi Iain,

I querried this very same point last year but it was never really answered. It would be very interesting indeed to know whether standard injectors on Volvo cars (apart from the latest "R" cars) can be stretched to 375bhp and if so what sort of duty cycle they would have to run to achieve it, whilst maintaing a safe air-fuel ratio and sufficient room to increase the duty cycle if the ECU requires to.

Hi Ashok

Had alittle look in to your question and taking into account the car running 1.3bar of boost. You would still need injectors able to produce 525cc/min to produce 375bhp. I don't believe any Volvo injectors are able to supply this running at 80% duty cycle which is the recommended Industrial standard.

Hope this helps

Regards

Iain

you also need to factor in that the fuel pressure increases with boost over the base pressure.
