Mine came with steel 14" Wheels. I put these 15" alloys off a dead 940 on instead. They look the part; like a refined version of the 5 spoke 240 GT alloys.
I think they are 'Dracos' which were fitted to some 240 I belive.

Regards,

Dave A

If you could post some photos with the alloys that were fitted (from factory) on the 240, would be great!
I'd love to see some alloys on the 240 (as I have steel wheels on mine).

That list's by no means exhaustive, but it does cover a majority of 240/740/940 factory wheels....

Cheers ...I have seen that before and forgot, 'doh'

it is now bookmarked.

I can get some very good part worns fitted for £80, but if I can find a set of alloys with tyres ....that would be handy as I think my Coronas have seen better days.

This is what happened to one of Matt's Polaris wheels a few months back:

I now have a set of fully refurbished wheels with new tyres sat here waiting to go back on his GLT which has just arrived back having been repaired from a hit and run drunk driver early in the year. The driver was traced and sorted out repairs.

Many thanks to everyone!
All alloys (original) look great on the 240.

Best regards,

Exclamation Virgos - not all the same!

Beware fitting other/replacement alloys if your car has a spiked bolt on the hub.

I had my '89 GLTs virgos off yesterday. The two front wheels had the same part numbers, size codes etc. (1272356; 6040; 6J 15 20) and the only difference was the year stamp. One wheel was marked '84', the other '88'.

The 88 wheel has four shallow and one deep indent between the bolt holes. The deep indent was deep enough for the spike bolt; the shallow ones would have prevented the wheel from fitting in any other position. The 84 wheel has five (seemingly) deep indents, but the spike had made a c. 3mm deep dent in the alloy two of them! I have now replaced the (bent!) spike bolts with ordinary machine screws.

Something to watch out for when changing wheels!

Good point S40 T3.
I forgot to mention that one.
Mine also has those spiked bolts on the hub (it's an '86).
That's why I also stick to my steel wheels (although I know I can replace them to be able to fit other wheels - alloys) but I like keeping it original plus the fact that the new screws available on the market are made of poor quality steel than the ones made 20 or 25 years ago (it's well know and tested)

Good luck mates!
