Would check your boost gauge against something known good/calibrate it too if you can. Most of the off the shelf ebay things for cars are not very accurate and can appear that spiking is occurring (or worse than it really is) as the needle doesn't respond that cleanly

The 30psi gauge i received was faulty and was returned twice for others but still no good as they were no way near accurate. So i decided on a digital one and it was excellent with also a battery conditioner built in so when starting you could see the state of the car battery.

I use a comedy sized industrial gauge oil filled, reacts fast, accurate vs. works gauges upto its quoted 30psi (to within 0.5psi that I could detect), about £20 from most hydraulic suppliers?

Thats mine, and placement, sits on a piece of sheet metal literally just pressfit into the gap between the blank switch covers and dashboard surround. in 18 months its never moved or come loose. Push fit pneumatic hose connection. Can't remember the brand, and next time I'd prob go for the smaller diameter guage. Cost £17 inc vat from local hydraulic supplier. |

Thats a normal boost spike. The boost and revs rise together, then it changes gear and the lower revs means less air consumed so less boost, then the cycle repeats if you keep your foot down all the way to 150mph. You usually run out of road well before you get to max boost in top gear or even 3rd.
