I'll take it off as it'll be eaiser that way to clean it up and spray all over, rather than try to mask off everything else with it still on the car.
Headlamps were quite easy to do - common on cars with plastic headlamp covers of this sort of age. I used fine wet and dry paper first of all - about 5 mins on each side, with plenty of water, which smooths the surface and removes a lot of the discolouration.
The I used Meguiars Plastix - essentially polish for plastic - and a drill buffer to clean them up. About 5 mins needed on each one, look almost as good as new.
