this^^^

there was no play in mine when I replaced them (I had a noisy O/S one)

the knackered one felt awful to rotate by hand directly on the hub once the wheel and disc was removed..couldn't feel anything nasty by rotating it with the wheel on though

I had this in mine - it turned out to be the osf bearing. Noise when running straight or turning left - noise stopped when turning right. New bearing (hub unit) supplied/fitted by dealer in Northampton (good experience).

We did mine a couple of weeks a go. Took two of us 1.5 hours. Straight forward job really

Andy - A worn tyre can give a noise just like bearing rumble.
Easy enough to check - try moving the worn tyre to another corner and see if the noise follows it.

I thought that as well mate,I have put a different wheel with a good tyre on and it's still the same! Thanks anyway mate

Just an update,It was the wheel bearing.When it was removed and spun by hand a rumble could be felt.Now all is quiet!
