According to the schematics, it's like this:
Connector 1 (C1) is for the 12 V feed to the TRM. Fused 40 A. C2 is for other inputs, CAN-bus included. C3 is for outputs to the trailer socket. In this connector. C3:2 is for switched 12 V output to the connector. This is from the schematics for 13 pole connectors. This 12N / 12S thing is something local to the UK, I think, so it's not specifically listed. |

Sorry for appearing thick, but what/where are the connectors you are referring to?
The connectors I mentioned in my last post are.. Thick black/red to thin red/blue & red/yellow.. These red/blue & red/yellow wires to fuse & back into the TRM.. Black & yellow signal wires to all the feed wires entering the TRM.. And the TRM.. Last edited by kinga; May 15th, 2017 at 19:01. |

They are on the TRM. But since you don't have the real TRM from Volvo, but a simpler version, it looks like they don't exist on your module.
Volvo's TRM has three connectors (at least according to the schematics; I've not been out looking at my TRM in the real world). One for main power supply, a second for auxiliary inputs, including CAN, and a third out to the trailer socket. That third connector, a 12-pole one, supplies up to eight wires to the trailer socket. Then the rest are ground and that permanent 12 V supply, which is independent of the TRM. Now you have a different unit, so it doesn't have the same connections. But perhaps we can sort it our anyway. CAN is of course the CAN bus. 30 is constant + 12 V 31 is ground R and L are turn indicators. 58R and 58L are tail lights, on each side. 54 is brake light and 54H usually implies a high-up brake light. That leaves I/O, NSL and RFL to be explained. Right connectons home page is full of marketing but lacks detailed technical information. thus I don't know if any of these additional connections are useful to you. Maybe somebody else has more information about that? |
