best thing for getting rid of tree sap is traffic film remover, preferably applied through a pump up garden sprayer.Try to do it on a cool day or in the shade, brush and rinse well, then follow with a good strong mix of wash wax and leather off.Polish when dry.Works well.Just be carefull with the TFR though, wear gloves,it has been known to take skin off.Happy scrubbing

In order to save this really good looking and condition car, I would do the following:

1. Speak to main dealer about new "Door Card". This would probably cost in the region of £400 (incl VAT) - don't forget you get 10% (or more) as a VOC Member at most dealers. They can fit this for you as well. There is no hope in repairing this door any other way.

2. Take the car to a professional detailer (not a valet!) and ask them to fix the car, interior & exterior. They have all the know-how and tools/elbow grease to remove anything. Cost £800 perhaps. Interior only probably around £400.

In the end, the car will look better than it did when new and you will be happy driving a really nice car!

PS Never use a leather to dry your car. They scratch! Use only a bucket with dirt guard, wash the car using only a simple car shampoo with no extras and a wash mitt (wool - no cheapo sponges from Halfords!!) and finally use a microfiber towel to dry the car.
