I might be going, maybe. Unsure, I've been to Fort Nelson before and dislike anything regarding the M27. Plus the drive to Swedish Day is far nicer but it'll mean mingling with Northerners who are all for modern tat and dogging.

If you have been a member of the VOC for at least 6 months you can take advantage of the Volvo Affinity scheme when buying a new car.
Now VCUK have arranged an extra £500 discount for 2016.
to get that extra discount all you need to do is attend an official club event where there is a director in attendance and get a voucher from him/her. The voucher is valid for 90 days from date off issue.

The main events where Directors will be in attendance are The National/Northern /Southern BKVs

The Amazon, 340 model meetings and Sussex Section annual event at Bentley Wild Fowl and museum.

The main Event


The 2016 Southern Rally and BKV is returning to The Royal Armouries Museum of Artillery, Fort Nelson Portsdown Hill Road, Fareham Hampshire PO17 6AN.

Entry to the museum is free.

We will be using the overspill part of the new visitor car park which is at the east end of the fort and on the same side of the road. It will be sign posted with the usual VOC signs.

The Forts Cafe is within 1 minute of our area.

Guided tours of the fort, subject to availability cost £3.00 ph (children free) at 1100 & 1330 hours
There is usually a live firing of WW11 25 pounder gun howitzer. at 1300

Entry to the site will be from 1000 hours and we need to clear by 1700 hours.

Again no space for xc70s! Oh well just pop brand new one in my class, I don't mind competing against cars 12 years newer and a different platform, of course and p3 convertibles (that do no mileage) and p3 v70s

Yep weather looks good (not) tempted just to jump in the xc90 as its the daily and not bother cleaning it.

Rain all day Saturday and all Sunday, field will be a bit wet and muddy I think.

BBC Weather for Portsmouth gives no rain until 1500 on Sunday as I write this. "show field" is the overflow car park which has some slope to it so should be mostly OK. I doubt if it will be muddy in the normal sense.

I live 2 miles away it's raining today, and up to midnight, then again in the morning only really a break between 10-1 tomorrow, one forecast has that as raining too, so who knows, cars will get filthy from the roads on the way.

Field doesn't look to have had the grass cut, only around the entrance to the fort has and there's a few puddles in the car park.

Probably better that it's wet as last year a car caught on fire due to long grass

They run so hot on the cats and R are pretty low to the ground, heart breaking for the owner.

So to confirm the entrance for the show field.
Coming from Fareham is it the overflow car park on the right or do you actually drive into the entrance rhat normLly has a barrier closed and has the bleeding big shooter on the right.
As pictured here in the entrance(cause the barrier was closed!!).
