  • VOC Members: There is no login facility using your VOC membership number or the details from page 3 of the club magazine. You need to register in the normal way

no it wont fail an mot if you fill it, if it was me i would do the same as you have said, if its pulled out and done ok you will only need a skimming of filler

Detach the kick panel from the inside of the car and see if there are any holes into the sill cavity (holes that are supposed to be there), then try tapping the dent out from the inside with a big chunk of wood or similar

I wouldn't do anything. I have a similar crushed sill but on the side of a 740. My mot man tells me that it isn't a failure and agrees with me that if we did start correcting it, it might introduce rust into the car. However, I do appreciate you wanting to make it look good.

same on the wifeys octavia. cleaned the crud off rubbed the cracked claer coat down and painted with galvofroid - that was 7 years ago ( 8 MOTs ) i keep meaning to get round to painting the sills black rubberised paint but never get round to it.

Hmm varied advice there. Maybe I should just leave it as it is, most people probably don't notice it but I know its there so it bugs me.

But i'm thinking of adding another Volvo to the household in a few months now so i'm better off focusing my money on that.
