The other factor with belt change intervals which Volvo don't advise is the nature of the use of the vehicle. Long "motorway" type journeys at steady speeds do less damage to the belt than many short, stop start town journeys which if they are the only journeys for which the car is used, you can consider the belt life shortened. The belt starting from a standstill takes more stress than when it's running at constant speed. So mileage has to be tempered with driving style. Some manufacturers offer advice of change intervals and journey types but Volvo stick to mileage and age.

If this was me and have just bought the car around that mileage, I was the same thinking about changing all tensioners and belts. The more I kept thinking and reading when is the best time to have this done! I just ordered all the parts which are Volvo parts and carrried out and replaced.
Just a great feeling it been done, and not mileage watching for it to be done.

What I'm trying to say get it done sorted, this then gives you time to clean and tinker lol.
