Just use a piece of suitable automotive wire , it is only a digital signal , no current involved .

Just to upset the 'WD stands for Water Dispersant' brigade, you can buy WD Penetrating oil now and they, of course, claim it's multiple times better than the competition

I do use WD40 but I don't think it's the universal solution that some would believe, I tend to use it most as a cleaner when taking apart greasy and oily things and as a short term lubricant, I'm afraid I'm old enough to keep a can (albeit a plastic one) of 3-IN-ONE oil in the garage.

I have used Plus Gas release oil for years, although I haven't bought any for some time now, so I wonder if that, too, is "not what it used to be".
Has anyone tried vinegar as a releasing fluid? |

I still use 3in1 as post above in spray and plastic can and it seems ok as a lubricant still. |

I still use PlusGas as my “go to” releasing fluid and 3 in 1 where only a drop of light lubricating oil is required.
I have WD40 in the garage but wouldn’t use it to try to release anything. For me it’s just a general purpose oily spray when nothing specific is required.

I like my own brew of 50/50 acetone and synthetic ATF, similar to the PB Blaster mentioned above that was marketed after someone in the USA discovered mineral ATF and acetone worked very well. However because the synthetic stuff has smaller molecules it "creeps" better using capilliary effect.
Modified an old brake cleaner aerosol with the brass insides of a tyre valve in the base so it still stands up (the valve cap fits into the recess in the base), fill it up using two syringes (one each for ATF and acetone), refit the valve core and use the compressor to fill with air as a propellant. Shake well before each use for best effect and to avoid clogging of the nozzle. Works out about £6/L, hasn't failed me yet even on deliberately rusted items (that were already rusty to start with!) and is good at derusting too!
