I find it better to contact volvo customer services direct rather than the dealer, they could say anything to get money out of you, send photos to customer services and ask them to rectify the fault. They will contact the dealer and to arrange repair.

Yeah can do that, although they would have their in the system already since the dealer has contacted them? Also I am a bit skeptical a dealer would get into troubles for £80?..

Hmm, 'something' isn't right here.

This is clearly a paintwork defect, the dealer has no record of paintwork done on the car, the dealer says that Volvo have rejected the warranty claim but the dealer has been quick to offer a discounted rate to rectify? I smell a (possible) rat.

As nu11eaf says, time to escalate by involving Volvo Customer Services.

Please let us know how you get on.

That's been done before, I'd expect that from a Tesla but not a mainstream brand that's been painting for years, that's been done after factory for sure.

Contact Volvo Customer Services as others have suggested.

No way should you be liable for this.

I doubt that the dealer ever contacted Volvo, contact them direct. You get a better response. Tell them you are not happy with initial response on this issue.

In my opinion, the response from Volvo is typical. Irrespective of the fault regarding paint, they don’t want anything to do with it. An indication of both the product quality and a reminder for those involved not to invest in Volvo again.
