Uniroyal is only good in rain. A friend of mine works for Conti (the owner company of Uniroyal). They make some of the tyres. They don't get the same qualities as the Contis do - but then, Contis cost a fortune anyway...

The 225s will fit the rim better...

From my experiance with Conti very good tyres with excellant rim protection, I will be going 225 x 40x 18 Conti next time over these stupid Pirelli 215 x 45 x 18.

(at the minute)

The 235/40/18 look awesome from behind but i do worry they would rub on fronts

I'm trying to decide which wheels to get got my eye on 2 sets one have 225/45/R18's on and the others have 235/40/R18's to be honest would prefer these but not interested if there's going to be a rubbing issue!

i'd like to know the answer to this too.

The 235/40/18 looks really good on car - I worry that the 225/40 will looks too low profile and ruin ride and increase road noise

another option is 225/45/18

I really want to know too  don't want to buy the alloys with the 235's & then have to go to the expense on changing the tyres, not sure weither to gamble or not he catacorically stated no rubbing issue on his C30 so it may be fine on the S40, may just have to go with my second choice of wheels to get the 225 tyres that I know will fit without issues....

Evening Mick,

I'm just interested in how much you've got your Kumho 225/40/18's for?, i'm changing to this size on my Medusa's and been shopping round last week or so for different tyres and prices with the best value upto now been Falken at £85 + VAT or Marshalls at £75 + VAT. Not sure if anyone has had any experience of this make but i've been recommended some Lassa Impetus Sport? made by Bridgestone apparently. Been quoted £93 a tyre for those, as yet still undecided but need to be quick as one almost on legal limit but like others no chance of sticking with 215/45/18 stupid prices and not having budgets again.
