Mechanically there isn't alot going wrong with new xc90's,

Alot of the issues are been sorted with software and hence out of the dealers control,

There is a course for new xc90's that techs go on but it can only tell us so much,

Apart from recalls the only warranty claim we have had is a replacement amp after one in a car died after doing carplay software upgrade,

I have a T6 Inscription with air suspension, and pretty much every other option.. love it. The engine is great. I also have a V70 T6 (3.0ltr) AWD 2011 and there is nothing between them in performance. The XC90 is nicer to drive though.

I had a rattle at low speed that developed after going through a lot of floods in our area
Our dealer was great, they replaced the front suspension and it is fine now.

I have had a couple of glitches with the heating. They did a software 'upgrade' which sorted that.

Anybody who is prepared to be an early adopter has to put up with some glitches. That's what we are here for

If anyone is struggling to get anything sorted. My dealer is P.V.Dobson in Kendal (lake district). Couldn't fault them. Then again I have had 15 vehicles from them...

This is a car that was introduced in MY15, we're now at the end of MY16 and entering MY17. If you can't get it right after 2 full years, then what gives?

The law here doesn't cover anyone, there is no 'lemon law' that I'm aware of in the UK or other parts of Europe.

I'm due to get a T8 R-Design next month. I'll loose the plot if anything is wrong with it as the OTR price is 92k Euro. For this kind of money the machine should last forever. if it does not heads will roll.

Mine was one of the first delivered. June 2015
I know a few other people with them, one who got the T8 a couple of months ago. And non of them have had any problems. In total our company has bought 35 of these, and my one has been the only one with any problems... and it was the first, so I kind-of expected it.
Out of interest the T8 polestar kit makes it very fast... 0-60mph 4.6seconds

Also if you want a truly unreliable car..... I know a guy who bought one of the new Discovery Sports... It has a 'sensor fault' and of the 5 months he has owned it, it has been in the garage for 4 1/2.... and they still haven't managed to repair it. At least Volvo know how to fix things if they do go wrong.

At the end of the day, it's not how a horse falls, it's how it gets up that proves its strength.

Oooh...please tell me more about the T8 Polestar upgrade as I haven't been able to find out anything about it so far. Obviously it exists!

I'd like to know too. Because the polestar website only the D5 is covered. I was considering what sort of beast would be unleased if the T8 (T6) got an upgrade!
