I asked when I can have a looksee..

Maybe I should try chipping him on the price..

Seems a pretty straight response.

hi again, since currently i'm not in UK I won't be able to handle this transaction in person so i'll deliver it to you; the car is already at the shipping company in their custody.
paypal will be mandated to handle the financial part of the deal and uship to deliver the car at your address. you have the opportunity to inspect the vehicle and decide if you want to keep it or not. In case something is wrong with the car you can apply for a refund and uship will take back the car. The shipping and handling will be supported by me.
the final price is £6050
if we reached an agreement just reply your name, complete delivery address and paypal email; i'll inform when everything is sorted.
regards

...unless you turn up with an even bigger group of bigger men.....

You are right though, best to go to the bank. also by going to the bank you will know that the money is genuine and not forged, hopefully?

Ask how long he has owned it and where he got it. His ad is carbon copy of the Dow Storey (original seller) ad.

Just to throw in another two penneth these people usually say your fine it's covered by the PayPal guarantee if you don't want it you can claim your money back, but if you read the PayPal guarantee you will find it doesn't cover motor vehicles so as I see it you pays your money then loose it

Yup, that's about the top and bottom of it.

Someone in the office next to us has just got shafted earlier this summer. Basically hubby was retiring and they really wanted an old (but restored) VW Camper. They were bidding on one on e-bay but they were out bid (it sold for £11,200). A day later they got a second chance offer e-mail through e-bay, they then got in contact (outside of e-bay) and basically the winning bidder was a timewaster, need to sell it quick to pay for new term school fees, and as luck would have it we are near to your house tomorrow so can deliver it - just put ten grand in my bank now... etc.
