A revolutionary high-performance in-car adapter, Highway 300Di is a professionally installed solution providing outstanding DAB digital radio reception, discreet looks, ease of use, additional features such as digital radio pause and rewind, and a wide range of digital music options. Highway 300Di uses a direct input to your car radio for a stronger signal (via its aux-in or aerial input); and dual digital radio tuners. These two tuners enable Highway to provide a dynamic station list; while you listen to one station, Highway constantly monitors for new stations, keeping the station list perfectly up to date. If you’re new to DAB digital radio you’ll love the high-detail, digital-quality sound, lots of stations (many exclusive to digital) and scrolling text displaying track titles, programme information and more. Digital radios automatically find all your available stations and let you select them by name. Highway 300Di’s compact, removable controller has a high-contrast OLED display that’s easy to read from any angle, night or day. Back-lit buttons and a simple rotary control make it easy to change a station, pause the radio and control your digital music devices. Highway 300Di provides full control of a connected iPod, iPhone or iPad. It also provides similar control and playback from USB memory sticks. •In-car DAB digital radio and audio adapter •Active aerial* option and dynamic station list for best-in-class reception •Connection for iPod/iPhone/iPad (standard Apple cable required) and USB with full music control and charging •Pause and rewind live digital radio •Detachable controller with high-visibility OLED display •Forecourt pause and picnic modes |

The only question now is why are Volvo charging £297 for it (I assume that includes VAT?) when it is available for £169 (plus £9.99 for stick on window aerial)
£130 for 1 hour of installation seems a tad steep

no there is a installation kit for each car aswell
the £169 is just a basic kit no installation items what so ever the £295 is fitted including vat (labour, kit and fitting kits for whichever model is being fitted into) we down here are one of the cheapest dealerships in the country labour wise most are in excess of £100+ p/h and vat ontop we only charge £70+ vat to fit this item which is why it is £295 fitted inc vat |

I've had DAB in my previous car, never again.
Reception is very hit n miss with DAB, and in Stoke if you drive around the number available varies between about 12 to 45 stations. Drive between Stoke and Derby you are in a DAB wasteland and no signal. I've found the best solution is using the TuneIn app on my iPhone. As I've unlimited data on my contract I get to listen to Internet radio, basically free. No loss of station, unless you're out of 3G network, and the choice is stations is mind boggling. No hiss or squeaks and crackles that you get with DAB when the station disappears. iPhone plugged into the C30 aux plug, and the cable hidden behind the trim and the iPhone held in a Brodit mount on the centre air vents. When using the Aux plug, I also get 'hands free' phone use as the mic on the iPhone easily picks up your voice and callers are played back thru the speakers, so no expensive Parrot system needed either. Sat Nav and internet radio at your finger tips. |
