What colour interior is it? I need the grey corduroy. Driver seat any good?
Be interested in both os doors if they're straight and price is right - obviously last thing before it goes scrappers.

Hi I'm well thanks. Hope your well too.

Definitely interested in the 3 rear bumper trim strips for my estate in chrome
I'll either give you a call on sunday or enquire on here about the condition of the heater fan motor on Monday, if that's alright
Also interested in the passenger outside lower front door trim if black?

Thanks James

Also, what steering rack does it have? Mine is developing a leak in the left hand side...

And the exhaust... always interested in a good s/h set of boxes.

Not a rant at you minty but why break such a nice motor?
And another one bites the dust.
So what was wrong with this one to warrant breaking it?
I know it's demise will keep many others on the road but as the rough ones become scarcer it looks like nicer models are being stripped as spares availability and cost of bits goes up.

It looks in very good condition, better than those folks cars wanting bits maybe?
Brian.

Morning Brian.
I could not agree with you more and i am half tempted to put it through an MOT to see the outcome and keep it myself but running 3 Volvos would be a bit much even for me.
It boils down to the fact that if i had tried to sell it as a whole car with or without an MOT on here i fail to see it realizing half of what it would make in parts and that unfortunately is what pays my ever increasing gas and electric bills ETC ETC!.
Im sure you have seen this thread
http://www.volvoforums.org.uk/forumd...er=desc&page=2
If there was one worth saving i would be thinking of this one but i bet a pound to a penny this too ends up as "organ donation" for other 240`s or even worse ragged around a banger track(the banger boys do sometimes buy any rolling shells i have but ONLY after they have been stripped).
That said if anyone wants to make an offer on the complete car please feel free .
I do see your point Brian and removing the first bits from a totally useable 240 never makes me feel good and i dont think it ever will .
Cheers Minty

Thank you for not taking offence at my post.
I just think about what's going on with lack of spares cars, availability of parts and the price of the few bits available.

My cars are run on a tight budget and if spares keep getting scarcer and more costly ultimately I would have to make some difficult decisions.
Look at the cancers bumping up the price of clean models £2000_£6000
..
I wish I hadn't been forced to scrap my old rusty cars as they all had useable spares.complicated but the boss got heavy where they were kept at work.no time to strip either.I wanted to invite folks to strip anything they wanted for free but he said no.
Brian.

Hi Brian, No offence taken at all .
I have to agree there are some absolute greedy sods around with massively overpriced ebay 240`s, where some of them get their prices from i dont know.
There was one on Ebay a week or two ago at £5000 or best offer, i couldnt resist offering him 75 Pence of which he declined with a brief message of "thats a stupid price" to which my reply was equally brief of "well you started it". Petty of me?????? yes maybe .

I agree also regards parts. I would like to think that people who have bought parts from me have never been charged anything other than a bargain price and those who have collected have often gone away with lots of freebies too .
Cheers Minty

Do you mind if I come over to say Hi again and take a look at things before dark? You're only half an hour away.
