Thanks everybody for your advice on this great forum. I queried and it was an aftermarket windscreen. I have now requested it be a Volvo screen, which has been accepted by the party who caused the damage, and it will be in stock in a few days. If the aftermarket was nearly £1500 how much is the OEM!?

Yep definitely would advise a genuine volvo screen as had mine replaced some years ago and it was an aftermarket (via major screen replacement company) and kept getting city safety sensor warnings. The windscreen people replaced the camera but still had issues. They then sent someone out with me to evidence the errors. They saw the errors and finally decided to try a genuine volvo screen. Worked perfectly. They admitted that volvo screens have a guaranteed minimum transparency and the after market one should have been ok but obviously wasn’t 🥲
