Nothing, it's just a spare wire in the loom.

When I pulse that pin 5 times I get an "on" on my diagnostics unit. If I pulse it 2 more times, the LED flashes quickly! It must be connected to something.

Sorry, can't help.
You may find out by pulling fuses until the wire goes dead..

Hi, I have already tried the demo software and connecting to my 1995 850 10 V 2.5 cd. I can communicate using a laptop and a cable from the Alex Peper interface cable I have. I can connect to the ABS module, Dashboard, electronic seat memory, SRS, immobilizer and reset the service light. The SIR (service light)reset tool I bought cost me £60 quid alone. Graphically it's very basic but does the job. It found 3 DTCs I had in my ABS unit but would not tell me what they were being the demo software version. Worth £100 for the software alone?.....,mmmmmm, just on the far side of pricey for me as I am thinking of changing car soon to a later V70 anyway which would not be covered by this software. (It only cover v70 1997-8). I built myself an interface to interrogate the other car CPUs with £6.00s worth of bits out of Maplins.

Cheers

Tek.

OK, so I bought my onboardiagnostics package. It works and I can pull codes from my previously unaccessable ECUs. I've done a few screenshots and info at Volvospeed. Here's the links.

How are you getting on with the ABS problem?
