Glad to see that download worked for you James.

I checked the properties of the video and it states for the video codec the file uses 'DivX Decoder Filter'

12sec 0-100 360?!?! Bloody hell!! My T5 can only do it in 14 or 15!!

To do a 1/4 mile in 11.7 you'd need to do 0-100 in about 7.5 secs :> That 850R in the vid must be one hell of a drive!

Obviously it needs the newer version - anyway, its working, thats the main thing!

>or 15!!

A guy called Kevin Strong has made one - he goes racing with Mark Higgins who showed up here a few weeks back. It uses a B230ET engine from a 740/760 turbo - not sure what else he has done to it - maybe a new exhaust, but it chucks out 205bhp, and does 0-60 in 6s, 0-100 in 12s, and 150mph top.

The problem with the 360 is that its top 3 gears are too high, and it struggles to pull well in them - double the power, and the ratios are just right. Dad doesnt fancy the big repair bills on the 360 much longer, so while he goes off to buy a golf or similar, i get the 360 to play with :) All I need now is a old (rusty but mechanically sound) 760 turbo, and I'll be able to teach you T5 boys a few lessons!

In about 5 years when I can afford the insurance, that is :)

That must be fun at the lights :)

It must be a pig in the wet! What the hell has he done to make it do that?!

James

Default Only the body is the same...

I got the avi to work after downloading the software - thanks - but without proper sound.

If you look at the second run, you'll see that the REAR wheels are producing smoke, so the "Volvo" certainly isn't.

God knows what's under that shell, but it didn't come from Goteborg.

Perhaps its an s70 R awd? i just assumed it was an 850 R.

Or there did used to be an 850 with AWD didn't there?? But not a high powered variety?

By the looks of it he has drag radials on the front..although that could be a spare wheel of course.

The car is tuned by a company in Sweden - I can't remember the name though, and it is fitted with new con rods, bigger turbo, bigger ic, etc etc etc.

That 360 sounds brilliant james! Gimme a ride in it when u build it!

As long as you dont cack yourself like you did when you were for a 'drive' with Gareth :)
I dunno if you saw this thread a while back, but I was talking to Gareth about his 'private test track' for the 0-60 vid....ya know...the one with the 40mph sign on it :)

Yeah, there was an 850AWD, but it was low powered (and an estate only?) - but presumably it cant be that system, as it puts most of the power through the fronts, and the rears do seem to be lighting up there. Maybe someone tinkered with it to get a different distribution of power, or maybe its an aftermarket system.

Do you have a URL for the car?

cheers

James

There's a sodding great air intake where that headlight used to be!! I'll try and find the URL but I don't think I have it anymore.

What the video didn't tell is that Gareth had hardly driven the M3 then..like 5 times or something, and he had never been down that road before - which isn't the most comforting fact when you're approaching a corner at 7000rpm full throttle :'(

Ahhh the good old days :) :) Anyway we must keep this thread strictly to performance cars otherwise we will get our wrists slapped for using valuable bandwidth!;);)
