Just blow it out gently, then see if the A/C keeps going.
I've looked in mine with a torch and could see what looked like the head of a hairpin, so I tried to pull it out. But now I've realised its not a hairpin but part of the unit, and I've broken the thing now. I now have two wires with no head, and my control lights are flashing

What are the two wires for that I have broken?

What does this airflow thing do, what's it for?

It is basically fcuked. The little wire is a temperature sensor and there is a fan behind it in the air pipe that draws cabin air in and measures the air temp. This is one of the readings the acc uses to determine how to set the system to achieve the desired temperature.

cheers, can't believe I've been so daft.

I can see them on ebay, does the cover pull off so I can get to the sensor to replace it?

My understanding is: unlike the switches that pull out of the dash from the front the sensor has to be released from the rear. It might be possible to remove the switch to the side and get access that way, but having never had to do it, I'm not sure.

thanks, I've found a video on YouTube, radio out and heating controls out and then accessed from inside there.
