Yes you are..Unless I have misread your statement, your claiming the Tesco, Asda, Aldi brand of blades are as good as the premium brand of blades..i.e the rubbers is of the same quality..

In my short post it's hard to see how have have arrived at that conclusion although for what it's worth I personally find the wipers from the supermarkets to be of perfectly acceptable quality. If people want to pay through the nose for "premium products" that's their decision.

It is not that in fact I have to agree cheap wipers simply don't last I had a set of Valeo blades more than once the rubber goes hard and brittle very quickly and therefore a useless wiper. Had a Volvo set on for 2.5 years no issues because the rubber is better quality don't short change yourself besides windscreen sealants and wipers they are the only things that keep visibility.

I have just bought my most pricey set which are a set of PIAA blades far better quality than my last Valeo set which next to a PIAA blade look and feel cheap.

Perfectly acceptable just satisfactory which sounds just like a budget tyre! Furthermore Volvo blades can be snapped up for reasonable cost from dealerships for reasonable cost.

Each to to their own

I've never had any problems with Supermarket wiperblades in terms of performance or longevity. "Perfectly acceptable" in my book means that they don't drag or smear, aren't noisy and work in different temperatures and perform as I would expect.

I am sure that as adults, we can all decide for ourselves what our expectations are and what we see as a reasonable cost.

There are other options then paying "through the nose for premium products" if you know where to look, but yes its is peoples decision as to what they buy and ho much they pay.But I for one would buy "premium products" over "low cost"products that has been made in a jungle clearance by monkeys..

Quite right.....you wouldn't want to buy Bosch wipers only to find that most of them are made in China

Oh.....they are: never mind.

What has an item being Made in China got to do with overall quality?

The facts are simply down to how supple the rubber stays during its service otherwise you end up with a wiper that causes issues

I have no idea but apparently anything not made by a brand leader is de facto made by monkeys in a jungle and must be unfit for purpose because...

Damn those cheap wiper blades that lasted all last winter and got me skiing and back in Austria with the outside temp gauge buried deep in the minus figures without tearing, streaking or making the whole car fall apart.....I knew I should have spent more LOL

Thanks for the advice everybody, I went to Halfords and bought the Valeo flat blades for both sides £25.48.

http://imgur.com/a/udhSY

They fitted OK onto the existing arm without an adaptor needed, hasn’t rained yet, but they sweep silently and smoothly when I gave the screen a wash a few times.

I was disappointed with the previous Bosch wipers though, I put a brand new pair on last January when I bought the car, the driver’s side wasn’t clearing the middleish part of the screen properly the last month or so, not good value to get only 9 months use.
