Bought my car from Phil and have to say the sales side of things was very smooth, but every time I phoned for quotes for work to be done on the car after I bought it , he never phoned back or seemed the slightest bit interested!

I can understand that. He is very difficult to get hold of. He spends most of the week travelling, picking up Volvos from Mainstealers all over the country.
His staff will not 'commit' to anything without his 'say so'. As in he runs a 'tight ship'. You may need to make an appointment.
I had quite a few repairs carried out on an 'after-sales niggle' basis & all were solved quickly & with a free loan car. All my servicing 'back then' were done by Phil (or Tony the mechanic)
I've had three cars from Phil & would consider going back from here in France to get another one.

Russ-first of all does your V70 have 5 spoke wheels and a spoiler? Mines identical and i *think* see yours quite often!

I know a half decent body shop near Uckfield. A tad far but they did a fantastic respray on my Ka last year.

Peter and his team are fantastic. Bought my 1994 850GLT in 2002 and they have serviced it ever since. A total of 8 services to date plus other jobs that have needed doing due to the mileage and age of the car. (just coming up to 190,000 miles) Price is very reasonable; they will never tell you something needs doing if it doesn't and they are very friendly.
