Hi
I used one from J&R and has now been on for a couple of years and still looks perfect. I had decided not to split the CV from the shaft in case of having problems as I was only working on the drive. The previous boot had only just split and I did clean the CV before fitting the new boot and grease. I ordered 2 boots with the cone. The first boot I did trim the smaller end before fitting and the boot suddenly split as it was going over the cone. I assume I hadn't trimmed it neat enough and caused a weak area. It had also cooled down by then which can't have helped. Luckily I had the second boot which went on fine. I would be cautious cutting the small end before fitting in case this happens as it does have to stretch an incredible amount. However it would be easy and safe to trim if needed once fitted. It is a very flexible material and I can't see why it shouldn't last as long as the non stretch type.
