One thing to remember.
The SRS light being illuminated is NOT AN M.O.T. FAIL. as that rule is 2002 onwards.

I've been given some duffer info by the garage then. Will have to look that up.

Thanks for the info so if may just be the ETM that needs attending to.

there is no age related section according to this link so it seems that if its fitted,,,,it should function

Well all I can say is, In Northern Ireland, The test centres are totaly run by the gov, No individual garages ect. and they looked up the ruling after my mates V70 T5 was presented with the SRS light illuminated, and he stated "That the new ruling was for vehicles from 2002 onwards" so his car passed.
It will be up again in the next 2 months now and I shall be taking it back to the same test centre, so hopefully get the same guy..
