My S60 P2 D5 had Cross climates on when I bought it, maybe 3/4 worn they lasted 25kmiles. I replaced like for like and they are really needing done now, after a solid 37-40k miles....

Ive been tempted by the Good Years but they are much the same money and I can't really fault the longevity of Michelin.

Oh and the cross climates are really good, especially with mixed conditions. Snow and standing water are excellent, also very predictable on frosty surfaces, no nasty surprise skidding (you get plenty warning to adjust).

Cross Climates for me. I've had them on the car for the last 65-70k miles. Got the first set around at 35k to replace the OEM Conti SportContact. Fronts lasted about 40k miles down to around 3mm. Rears (at ~5mm) moved to front and new ones on rear at around 75k. Just done the same again at 101k.

Great in the snow but also equally good in summer. I've skimped on tyres previously (Nankang winters on previous V50 - OK in winter but rubbish once the temps increased) and now would always fit a premium brand. Also saves the hassle of swapping wheels each Spring/Autumn

If you're a Costco member, they're worth a look as I was about £150 a corner fitted from the Aberdeen warehouse. That's on 235/60/18 size

So......... it looks like a resounding thumbs up for the Michelin Cross Climate! Found them locally for £162 a corner but I'll need to wait until pay day before I empty my pockets

Heres hoping I get significantly more mileage from the CC's than I have done with other brands.

Thank you for your help folks

Unfortunately the prices of winter tyres and all season tyres seems to have shot up 20-30% in the past 2 weeks for some reason....

Kwik fit was still at £150 fitted at home for the size required (with 10% off applied)

That's a very good price - Camskill are charging £144 for them without delivery or fitting. That price will not last long - get them bought if you're looking!

Just wanted to add this thread has helped a lot as I was due new tyres for the T4.

Initially I wanted to go up a size to 235/45 (rather than 235/40) and get Goodyear Vector 4 Seasons as they seem to be winning a lot of awards.

However ATS have a decent deal on CC2's so I've ordered them. Plus who could turn down a free Lego Bugatti with the order.

Tyres really have shot up in value in the past few months. Properly expensive now.

I've had a few different sets over the last 160k with my V50 D5 and then V60 D5 and now I only go for the Continental Premium Contact, version 6 and now version 7.

New on the rear, rear to the fronts, typically did approx. 20k, 75% motorway miles between a pair going on the rear and being warn out at the front.

V60 started with a few pairs of SportContact 5s, had a Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 3 pair on for only about 12k and I felt once they got to the front they handled worse than the SportContact 5s I had on there before.

Next pair I had after that were Premium Contact 6's and when they reached the front handling seemed to improve again, although very subjective.
