Unless I've read this wrong you've bypassed the low pressure sensor to make the compressor activate?

If so surely the system is trying to warn you it's low on gas! running the compressor with low gas will damage it.

The system has been recently gassed and pressure tested so assuming the very expensive ac testing machine is accurate, it appears that the pressure sensor on the car has failed, preventing the compressor from working automatically.

If the pressure sensor was working correctly and the system was actually low on gas, the compressor would at least engage for a short period of time before cutting out.
