Well a spanner in the works!

Not collecting tomorrow as when it went for its MOT and get allr eady and nice n spic n span for me - on the way back

Anti Skid light

it was taken back to Volvo

Reset - sorted

on the way back

Anti Skid Light!!!

It is back in Volvo again and we have rescheduled collection next weekend

After reading on these forums about this common ish fault - I am thinking

Is this a bonus that they are going to have to pay to sort this - or should I be worried.

It is a 300 mile drive back and I just fear it coming on again.

I know to give it a decent test drive and maybe one or two tests of the ABS with a good sharp stop at about 40 to 50 to see or tease it into coming on by fault again.

As I see it can be a yaw sensor - the entire brake pressure sensor - or various other - quite costly fixes

The good thing it seems is - you cant easily make this look like its sorted.

Default Foggy advice required!

I am looking to buy a V50 and have spotted 2 suitable candidates at a local dealer but neither have front fog lights. As I do a lot of driving on rural roads in a part of the country with regular bouts of heavy mist and fog these are something which I would prefer. Are front fogs something which can be retrospectively fitted - don't like to appear too ignorant in front of salespeople.

I think it is possible but a bit of a job to do. You'd have to buy a new bumper and then somehow retrofit fog lights to the existing lighting system? I think it best for you to buy them outright!

What's you budget?

Here are few good ones -

Thanks Jaygee - think I'll wait to find one with fogs ready fitted. These shouldn't be an optional extra IMHO!

I know on the later facelift car in the second link the wiring is already there, all you need is the two foglights bolt them in, the new covers for them if they do not fit and the new light panel inside with the foglight button, and then VIDA to update to allow you to use them.

S40 is small in the boot - V50 much more practical.

Both are fords but better built, and parts are pretty cheap too.

How much would you say that would cost?

I would say quite a bit of hassle, especially when there is a choice from the beginning? Just my opinion of course.

Fairly sure frontfogs were always standard on SE, wouldn't bother with an S anyway as the price difference isn't worth the lack of equipment when buying used.
