Folks, I am not breaking the car. I don't have the time to do so, yes it's worth more in bits. I would love to keep it but even putting it back on the road it simply won;t be used and I have too many other toys at the moment.

I cant access my photobucket from here and can't post links to another forum due to the thoughpolice here but if you are really desperate to see photos go to www.autos h i t e.com and do a search on "sports edition" with the user name scooters

I'm offering it up here not because I necessarily need to sell it but would rather see if an enthusiast wants to take it on, hence the price These Sports Editions are rare cars and a hoot to drive. The MBC is the one made by the chap in the VOC rather than some nasty ebay one, it is set pretty sober at the moment.

If no one wants it then I will mothball it until the winter (mind you, at this rate winter will be all year!)

Anyway, Rog has sent an email so hopefully he can put it to use. Despite the lovely bodywork and interior, the engine has done 270k and whilst low for a volvo these Sport Eds had DMF clutches which are not that cheap and the engine is stressed when driven like a lunatic. Mind you, only 30k off a High Mileage silver badge!

cant get the link to work - browser doesn't want to play.

Im away this weekend but if you want to have a look at the car you are more than welcome. At present it is at my work, Niddry Mains Farm, Winchburgh, west Lothian...EH52 6QW - postcode in google maps.

The 940 is currently on a scissor lift in the yard to the left behind the new fence. We recently moved the business to this site and there is a lot of renovation happening. If you do go and see it i apologise about the mess in the car, it hasn't been de kidded yet! and needs a good tidy and hoover.

Note it will need the uprated clutch and DMF, it ain't cheap!

Only problem with this is the diff seems to grenade after a while, it seems to be a problem on turbobricks with lots of the 'merican folk blowing diffs up on a monthly basis, then I suppose it depends on your driving style too

I've had 2 Sports editions, Cumbrianmale's one (I sold it to him I know he's moved it on) and this one the red one was 180k when I sld t, this one is 270k and both seem OK - mind you it would be typical if the borked clutch ends up to be a lunched diff!!!

re the AA car transporter - lol - been there many a time. Er, what do you mean you don't carry spare Morris points in your van anymore Mr AA man! of dear, these ones are horribly knackered, I suppose you will have to tow me the 400 miles to Edinburgh! Doh! I had no idea it was a rash move to expect the car to make it!
