Out of interest, what did your friend have to change on his SAAB to get that output? Cheers, Dan. |

Out of interest how much money would it take to get a T5 auto/manual upto or over 350 bhp?
Reason I ask is I want to do a project sometime next year on a 855 T5. |

A later block (850R or later) with the bigger bottom end ought to be strong enough for 350bhp. That means you can do it with bolt-ons. My spec list would be larger turbo (Garrett GT3071R seems to be a popular option....£5-700?) and a programmable EMS (starting at about £500?) to give it the fuel/spark it needs. Then you can probably double that figure (at least) for the fiddly bits and the dyno time to tune it.
Here's what to do if you want more (Mustang dyno'd at 410whp, and very much a work in progress): http://www.rkautotechnik.com/9.html There's also some info on SW Autos' site on "THE850R", which is making ~550bhp. cheers James |
