I spent an hour and a half today with carpet up and various bits of trim removed but I couldn't find a way through the bulkhead, then it started raining. It's in for the seatbelt recall tomorrow so I'll ask if they can enlighten me. Everything else looks reasonable so once I find a way through it should be fine. It may even be necessary to remove the glove box and scuttle tray cover but I'll look again when the weather improves.

it is the passenger side the carpet is about 4 inches thick with foam on the back , there is a black rubber bung on the floor on the part of the floor which slopes up .

I'll have another look when it stops raining. I did pull the carpet right back and just found lots of electrical connections. Maybe I'll take a photo next time. I'm also trying to work out how to change my "signature" as that may look like I've still got my V70!

  • In the Second row of the header bar, left hand side, click on "User CP".
  • Scroll down, on the left hand side there is "Control Panel"
  • 3rd one down within that "Settings & Options"
  • 2nd one down within that "Edit Signature"

This link might work too,

yours is the model changeover year , is it the last of the old ones or the first of the new ones ? I was talking about the new ones ...

stage 9 in these installation instructions , you have to cut the 4 inch thick foam under the carpet in line with the blue connector in the white CEM unit . to get to the floor panel .

I'll be near the last of the old ones, it's December 2011 but often comes up on sites as 2012, it hasn't got the new dash or daytime running lights so I guess you'd call it the old one.

The car went in for the seatbelt recall today and while I was there I asked about access to the engine bay and the guy said there's definitely a grommet in the brake pedal area. So the next reasonable weather we get I'll be trying harder in that area.

Is that the case for my year model then? I'll check that again if you're sure as it's easier than the driver's side.
