You could get bilstein B4 shocks, available from most motor factors including EuroCarParts.com or carparts4less.co.uk or partsforvolvosonline.com

They should have them in stock and the above sites offer next day delivery.

B4's are similar to standard shocks - I think bilstein advertise them as being 10% stiffer. They will work fine with either standard or lowering springs.

I also suspect that they will be "slightly" cheaper than volvo ones.

I am in the process of replacing my rear springs and there are about 20 different ones depending on make model and spec. Volvo would ask you for number off data plate and the letter A or B or C etc determines your spring and shock.

I won't use aftermarket ones which cost about £36 each in the risk it will be incorrect one. Frf Volvo Swansea quote code C3 and you get a discount. Think they are £172.80 but with discount £146.88 for rear pair type B on my car.

Bilstein shocks are awesome.

Bilstein and Eibach for the win - got the B12 set up on my car, the Focus lads think its the best ride/handling balance for daily driving there is available too.

I can confirm that the B4s are similar to the standard shocks for an R, and usefully cheaper than the factory ones. B6s, etc, will be stiffer. When I sold my V70R, it was running standard R front springs and B4 shocks (and the standard rear setup), and that all worked very nicely together.

The PFS comment about springs may have been related to the skinny springs for use with Nivomats, maybe? If you change both springs and shocks, there should be no issue.

cheers

James
