I cut my module open, replaced with an eBay 7.2v but ran the wires to a concealed place in the engine bay (so if there is a next time, it'll be a doddle). I then resealed it all with epoxy. No more alarm woes and only a tenner plus some wire and a bit of glue.

Did the same on my old S60, then took the bugger out when I sold it (remote locking had packed up, so it didn't matter as I couldn't arm the alarm), now got a spare incase the one on the V70 expires.

Hi again. I am now rather confused by this rather annoying Sunroof issue.
As previously explained I am unable to crawl around and remove the siren and other bits from the inner wheel arch. The roof has mysteriously started to work again but the rear parking sensors are malfunctioning again after several weeks of working perfectly well. The Haynes manual shows the electrical/fuse system for Left-hand Drive and when I mirror image the positions for RH drive the fuse No38 is not in the rack. I have looked at the passenger side but I am reluctant to remove the panel because it would appear that the passenger side air-bag controls are on the removable panel. The only 5amp fuse that is in the driver-side end of dash board rack is in a rack that does not resemble the illustration that shows fuse No38. If the roof goes back or into tilt and then fails to function again is there an emergency concealed closure point that operates with a concealed handle?

Hi to you all again. Well perhaps this reply should be posted into each and every section that is covered by the Alarm Siren Battery failure.
As some of you may recall,I am no longer able to get on with doing my own work so it went into a very trusted auto electrician. For those that have yet to experience the peculiarities of a failing alarm system and or some odd things happening with your car, here goes. Some of the side effects that I have experienced included the sunroof intermittently pleasing itself and the functions not all active. When the car was locked from the fob -the driver memory seat would move backwards to a position that I could not possibly have set. This occurred after deactivating the alarm and then opening the drivers door with the door handle. The straw that broke the camels back was the battery being drained to the point that it would not permit starting (2005/05 V70 D5 SE Geartronic) after only a week of not being used. The first time that the battery was drained was after a 3wk period of being parked-up. Well the alarm battery was blown and the circuit board looked like it had been toasted (burned & blackened. The bottom line of all of this is that £312.00 later (including a completely new siren) - all appears to be well again.
