Welcome to Volvo.

As has been said before. Find out what car you actually have and make contact with a Volvo dealer - they will confirm if the part you are after is available and how much. If you have problems with your 'not so local dealer' try FRF at Swansea - ask for Rufe. they are exceptionally forum friendly and will sort you out. Contact details in the traders section.

Found it at last!
The link to a German company was the correct part however before postage it was £56!
I was already in contact with PSF Parts Ltd and Jamie went to the trouble of finding the part for me at £42 including postage (well done Jamie)

Although I have found the part (apparently it is for non turbo engines) I still think it's unnecessarily expensive for what is basically a piece of blown plastic and a rubber diaphragm! "welcome to the life of a Volvo owner!"

Here is the gateway to an exceptional original Volvo and original Volvo OE
and aftermarket online parts store FCP EURO

They show a photo of the actual part you are looking for.

The prices, even combined with postage are very reasonable
delivery time is a week
Try their immediate postage calculator
Hey, buy a few service items to offset postage cost
Hey, as a regular I get 80% off
Value Value Value

For the astute buyer, that arms themselves with their cars details
and is serious about buying, some serious parts for their much loved Volvo.

So step into my imaginarium

OR

You may even consider typing your part, OR number, into their search engine broom vroom

Open yourself up to your part
and voilà you have an alternative part number

OE NUMBERS
8642185, 31338023

which you put into here

which leads you immediately to success
which with a bit more squeezing neeeeeeeeeeh!!!! more success, despite rubbish parts suppliers using generic photos

But only for the astute buyer, that arms themselves with their cars details
and is serious about buying, some serious parts for their much loved Volvo.

unless of course once you get your alternative part numbers
you just take them to your favourite supplier and bypass the incessant yammering

OR, for me it's Volvos, cos I'm rollin!

FCP Euro £56.54
"OE NUMBERS 8642185, 31338023 which you put into here" Why would I want to search Google Australia?

I know what car I have it's a 2004 s40 s 1.6, do you know what car that is?

I have my part number and I found it at a very good price (including postage) from a UK supplier and in 2 to 4 day's
The supplier was able to find the right part for me because I know what car I have and I gave him both the Volvo and the OE part numbers.

So what do you need to point out to me now "happy diver"?

I wish there were more people like the one's who have had positive advice to offer, thank god there is only one "happy diver"

To those who offered help I would like to say thank you well done guy's

I always used to skip this website as they don't have the x40 in the model selection dropdown, which is silly. Now I see that they indeed do have the parts.

Also, they are US based and don't clearly announce their international shipping prices, which usually is an instant farewell from me. Turns out you can check them just by adding your parts to cart, no registration needed as usually is the case.

Anyways, how does their lifetime guarantee work? They don't really go into much detail, can you just ship back your worn drop links that you bought 5 years ago and expect a replacement?
