Yep !! and on certain Peugots for example you can do it through the software, even the main drivers airbag can be disabled which actually surprised me a bit...

An update on this thread, thanks to mikealder's great little write up I got the resistors from maplin and a belt clip off ebay and quickly fitted them. ..and as predicted the light stayed on.
So this week I bought a dice module off a guy on ebay and managed to cancel all the leftover codes so the light is out and she's all ready for her re-test. So big thanks all round guys. On the subject of safety I have no intentions of selling the car any time soon but would happily tell a prospective buyer of the sips bag problem and of course the system will work better now than it would have with the srs light on.

Glad you found the information useful as that is what forums like this are all about, as the seats you have fitted have mechanically fired airbags they will still work if needed (hope this never occurs those), the seat belt buckle/ clip was something that caught me out and it took quite some time to work out the difference.
As for selling the car I would just tell them the car has mechanically initiated airbags and point out that should they ever want to remove a front seat that they should fit the red inhibit ring stowed in the seat side portion to the initiator before removing the seat to make it safe - Mike |
