They changed the timing set up in 2019, I've done quite a bit of research involving phoning some specialists and an engine rebuild firm - in each case they'd not had issues with the revised set up.
Some issues still with the engine in Land Rovers but they have a different dpf set up which seems to never get hot enough. Time will tell but it's rather like Volvo's oil drinking issue that they clearly only partially fixed.

Things that are missing that I never used anyway - themed display, ability to change steering "weighting" Things that are missing I thought would be an issue - being able to switch between pilot assist and adaptive cruise from the steering wheel. In reality, a non-issue because pilot assist seems much better at staying "locked on" in bad conditions, and I believe it is coming soon anyway Good new things Google maps and direct linking to any searches you make on your other devices linked to your account Android Apps - can now play Radio Paradise direct from the screen (used to be able to on Sensus before Tune-in blocked it). Also much better spotify integration Voice activation is much better. Voice searching for navigation is stratospherically better. e.g. "Navigate to the Bulls Head in Mobberley" will get you straight there - no searching for post codes. To me AAOS is an upgrade. I'm sure there must be other things missing, but as I'm not missing them they can't be that important!

I'm sure it's win some, lose some. If the DCT gearboxes prove reliable I may well buy another in 3 to 4 years. However at the moment the combination of no diesel, DCT, change of infotainment and being a bit bored with them having done 250000 miles plus in three Volvos in the last 10 years mean I'm ready to change.
I tend to switch between cruise and limiter multiple times on a journey though.

Adaptive cruise does all the work, no need for a limiter.
Don't understand the Sensus Vs AAOS gripes on here but perhaps I didn't have an XC40 long enough to appreciate Sensus, Google is leagues ahead. I do like a Jag though, we were torn between F Pace and the XC60, we would probably be in the Jag if they could deliver. Hear lots of bad things about them but that's the same for nearly every car I have owned as I predominantly buy Italian and French stuff I don't let people comments taint my decision all my cars have been awesome. It was interesting to discover Ingenium is Fiats multiair tech, this has been great for off boost economy in my runabout, seems really good.

The Tesla is an interesting choice.
Elon Musk has done so much to make the whole car and support package work. Originally with free charging but still with the best network of chargers. You can dial in a stop on the satnav and the car prepares the battery pack for a quicker recharge. Contrast that with the head of VW complaining that nobody had provided him with recharging network going over to Switzerland As an engineer I appreciate how well the noise issue has been designed. When you take away the IC Engine all other noises dominate. In the Model S the wind and tyre noise are virtually non existent. Then you have to applaud the ownership of battery materials and putting the factory side by side with the battery manufacture. But! What is Musk doing now with his attacks on customers and also destroying resale values? I have taken numerous people around the Hill Circuit at Milbrook and it is really really impressive. The Model 3 just pivots around its centre of gravity and can attack corners superbly. Couple that with the acceleration and most people leave the car with a huge grin. The V90 also does well on the Hill Circuit because the car has tremendous compliance in the suspension. Not the same cornering or acceleration but I suspect it is the most competent package for British roads and would tick all the boxes if you don't jump in the Tesla on the same day. Here's a video of an Audi (he doesn't go deep enough into the first hairpin and this early turn in ruins the speed on the next straight) (he also avoids the Belgian Pave at the end which would show why the R8 is a poor choice for our roads) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yd_UbZXz6LY

I don't change cars that often and I think like is too short to buy the same car over and over (I still have my XC60 and plan to keep it for at least another couple of years and do think it's one of the best cars I have had so far all considered minus crappy dealers)
