is their a common place for the wiring to be faulty?
i thought when i was looking at volvos previously when i closed the boot the lock pulled the boot shut that little bit to secure it but that doesnt happen on mine..
Tbh i think its more likely to be the unit your talking about..

is that a expensive part or hard to change?

Well I tried manually closing the hatch and their is no noise or anything when unlocked or locked.
