Ok, I don’t think there is anything wrong with your modem or raw internet connection, but believe there was a problem with Volvo servers yesterday.

I did a 30minute journey with Spotify at around 14:15 yesterday, no issues. The got in the car for a 40 minute journey at around 17:30. Couldn’t get an internet connection (via Bluetooth to iPhone), tried weather app, no connection either. Tried changing from Bluetooth to phones WiFi hotspot, no joy. 4g internet connection on phone was fine. Then at around 1820 I tried the Volvo app on my iPad and it gave connection errors.

I suspect it will be fine again this morning. Trouble is, for security all traffic goes via Volvo servers, which like a lot of Volvo technology are a little bit wobbly

It seems that was the problem - spotify is back today. Hadn’t thought that it all goes through Volvo - great tip, thanks!

I was in the car about noon yesterday for about 30-40 mins, and everything was fine - Spotify working and weather (last app opened on 4th tile) was fine.

Got back in the car 16:30 and no internet. no signal on car modem (3 PAYG SIM). Spotify refuses to connect (understandable with no signal), weather app has no connection (again understandable).

it stayed like this for about 30 mins or so. then, 5 mins from home, Car modem gets a signal, Spotify starts working and the weather app tells me its going to rain (which I already knew by the water hammering down on the window ) I had not touched or changed anything. all is still fine this morning.

no idea why, just guess it was one of those things, be it Three, Volvo, ...

It wasn’t three+ as I’m on EE, from which the service was fine, but Volvo wouldn’t connect, 95% sure it was Volvo servers.

I've noticed these internet service breaks tend to happen on a weekend. I guess it's when Volvo are updating their servers.

Shame they haven't yet discovered continuous availability.

I guess you can identify if its a Volvo issue or Three issue, by doing this:

- Enable the car's wifi hotspot
- Put your phone in flight mode (or turn off your phone's mobile data)
- Connect your phone to car's wifi hotspot
- Try to browse on your phone. If you are able to browse then Three connection is fine and the apps are down because of Volvo's servers. If you fail to browse, then its either the car modem or the Three network.

For me it was Three. No bars for 30+ mins on car modem. Then, having done nothing, 3-4 bars and Spotify starts playing.

There could well be a problem with Volvo's servers too, which is affecting people. But definitely a temporary lack of connectivity to Three's network was what I experienced Sat afternoon
