As I say it was just a copy and paste, but I'm fairly sure from what I read that neither of the first two will have a DPF.

Also if it does have a DPF then you pay more road tax as the ones with a DPF have a greater co2 output so it moves up to the next band

Let's hope so. But it did strike me as a little odd.

That is a seriously strange bit of legislation ! Presumably somone, somewhere must think it 'A Good Thing' to try & reduce diesel particulates but somebody else has decided that the attempt should be penalised.

Since I'm apparently in the camp that pays less tax and doesn't get stung with a huge bill for maintaining the device I'm not complaining but I would say those that are affected thus have a legitimate grievance.

Road tax is based on carbon emmisions alone, with the DPF they use a little bit more fuel and that just pushes it over into the next band.

Cool

Oh dear. The 8th character of my VIN is a "9". Does that mean I have multiple Dpf's and an inferiority complex?

Thanks.

EDIT: Replied just before me- excellent cheers!
now i think that car will have the DPF ( i think all the car built after the end of 2007 has a DPF) what type i dont know it might have one with a tank or the other one ( the lifelong without maintanace).

the digit that tells you if you have it or not is the 8th is a 5 (EURO V reg) you will have a DPF.
