We are on our third EV - an i3, an iPace and now a C40. Managed 630 miles in a weekend in the iPace recently and the charging didn’t delay us much more than having lunch - though that was helped by charging at Rugby services abd Gridserve Braintree forecourt so lots of over 100kW chargers. For regular trips to collect daughters from university in Edinburgh and Aberystwyth the charging can be painful (380 or 330 mile round trip) - but the rest of the year I charge at home and go nowhere near petrol stations. EVs are vastly superior in terms of smoothness, noise and power delivery, although I have always though a decent ice car isn’t the end of the world that some EV drivers think they are

I’m really interested in this - we’ve been looking at moving to Volvo, probably a new Recharge V90 or XC90 and we’ve noticed their finance offers getting worse. Seems counterproductive to make it more expensive to buy the things they’re having trouble selling…

Volvo don't seem to be having any trouble selling their cars though.
Demand is high and production is lower than usual due to reasons you will be aware. The lower production ability of Volvo, and any other manufacturer for that matter, skews the sales figures suggesting sales are down from previous years so its a little misleading.

Yep... In simple economic terms, if demand is high and availability low, price increases.

That's about all I can remember from my sixth form Economics schooling!

I think you have misunderstood the post title….sales have tumbled as they cant build enough cars! They have no trouble whatsoever in selling them.
