241000 and a bit K on a 97, 855R auto. Just had the exhaust replaced after 14 yrs but otherwise original engine, gearbox, turbo etc. Still pulls like a train and puts many a modern car to shame.

Everything works. Replaced brakes a couple of times, rear calipers, PCV, front suspension struts, control arms, timing belts etc over the years but I consider them sort of things service items. Only real expense was getting the aircon sorted a few years back but in my opinion money well spent.

Serviced by myself nowadays, got fed up with being ripped off!!! Oil changed every 10000 mls and serviced to the schedule. Uses about 1 lt of oil between services depending on how hard i drive her, turbo seals I reckon.

Only mods are 302 front discs and a strut brace, money well spent and make an incredible difference over standard.

Not broken in yet that one. Mine is above 256,000 miles and still going very strong. What is it? A 1997 850 TDI saloon and in daily use. Burns no oil (other than fuel).

Cracked 170,000 the other week in my 850 2.5 GLT . Done whilst hacking down from south Brittany to the Camargue and back. 1350 faultless miles with the running about in 6 days. Top box fitted too. 29.4 mpg on the pooter Not gonna grumble at that performance for a car that cost me £850 two or so years ago
