Hi,
I bought a 2002 46K T4 sport lux 2 months ago, have covered 5500 miles in it since then. I love it so far, performance and handling is in a different league to my last car ( a vectra). I think they are excellent value too, I paid £7750 for mine (from a car supermarket) - at least 30-40% cheaper than a BMW 330 which has similar performance. Fuel consumption isnt bad considering the performance, I typically get 31-32mpg on my 100 mile a day commute to work (mainly fast A roads, with a fair bit of overtaking) . On a trip to wales last week I averaged 35 mpg (driving a bit more gently than normal because I had lots of electronic equipment in the boot.) Only problem I've had is the DSA (traction control) light sometimes comes on when I start it, then remains on until the end of the journey (with the traction control not working). I've taken it to a garage with the light on and engine running but they couldnt find any fault codes... It doesnt happen very often though so I'll live with it for the time being. I haven't driven a 2.0T so can't comment on how it compares with a T4, there's probably not a massive difference in running costs though. If you are looking for a newish one a 2.0T might be easier to find, particularly at a volvo dealer. this dealer has a nice looking T4 http://dealerservices.autotrader.co....17949&pageid=2 good luck! :-) Tim |

Gazza GG, I have a 2.0T of 98 vintage with 146k on it. Came with a FVSH and I paid £2000 for it last year. Performance can be "brisk" when it needs to be. Recently quoted £270 + VAT for a 140k service from main dealer in Glasgow, which I politely declined. I have had no probs so far and really dont see any on the horizon. I dont see too many 2.0T or T4's around Glasgow but there are a few.
Good Luck whatever you decide on Chris |

Cheers Chris , i was a bit wary of buying any vehicle over 80k miles, but i suppose going by the comments and knowledge from you guys the owners, this aint no normal vehicle at 80k+ miles , seems to me that they are basically more or less broken in at this stage !!!!
I suppose with good volvo service history and 1 or 2 carefull owners i should be ok . |
