The line-out is standard part of the parrot wiring, but normally they are not used if you connect direct to speakers.
The color coding is White Left (+), Brown left (-), Red right (+), Black right (-) You can join the brown and black cable together when you solder them to the negative side of the aux input. As you see in the picture I used a 3.5mm cable rather than cutting the car wiring. The aux-in can now at any point be put back where it was, when I come to sell the car

Thanks for the quick reply. I got the sound to work. Did you notice the volume was low on your unit? I'm finding mine to be very low even after turning up the volume on the Parrot remote. I may have to re-solder the audio wires again.

Yes, same here, but there is a solution
If you go through the menu options on the radio there is an aux-in volume setting. If you set this to max, the volume of the parrot unit is the same as radio and cd.

Interesting. I will give that a try. I notice that if I play music through the OEM Aux-in through a 3.5mm wire going into my iphone headphone jack the sound was loud just like the radio. This was prior to the Parrot install. Like I said, I'll check that setting.

I should mention that I tapped the Parrot Line Out wires into this
http://www.amazon.com/Fierce-Audio-F.../dp/B004MF5B9Y and then ran a RCA to 3.5mm cable to my Volvo's Aux-in Jack. I tried soldering direct to the 3.5mm cable and the wires seemed too small to get a good sound. Maybe I should revert back to the soldered option. My 3.5mm spliced wire only had two wires, a red and white. Did yours? I soldered the negatives to the white and the positives to the red. |

The controller you used is to lower a speaker output down to RCA level, the ipod/iphone will only give a headphones output level and is far lower than a speaker output.
A 3.5mm (stereo) plug and cable will have 3 wires, left (white), right (red) and earth. Earth is usually a non insulated blank wire (depending on the cable you could have 2 of these which you can join together)

I will look for a 3.5mm with the earth wire. The cable I was using had an earth wire, but it was wrapped around the red and white wires.

I have this wired and working. Did you experience the ground whining noise after doing your mod? I hear the engine whining noise through the speakers when I am on the phone or if the aux is on and no music is playing. Very annoying. Ground loop isolator did not solve the problem.

There is a tiny little bit of engine noise noticeable, but can't hear it when music is playing. Make sure the parrot power is connected to proper ground

is it just me or have the images disappeared from the first page of this thread?
All I can see is thumbnail icon (not clickable). I'm hoping this images will help figure out ISO harness behind radio to fit one of these: |
