Advice taken Chris - only fitted the input sensor as instructed.

Not sure i dare count any chickens yet - have just been out for two small trips adding up to a whopping 4 miles without a problem thus far!.........beats the 50 yards on leaving my local wonder stealers Tuesday.

For the moment I'm just so nervous every time she changes gear.

Dare I celebrate??????

Default Fingers Crossed

Dare i say it..............................it seems perfectly alright!?!?!?

So, two sensors for the cost of a tenner ((scrap yard boss took pity when i explained the antics of the Main Stealers, usually a tenner a piece)) = somewhere between £2,000 grand and the scrap yard!

What a disgrace that they don't have the ability to diagnose simple faults - however, will wait a week or so before i shout my mouth off but if things hold out i will be back to trading standards.

So far she's done about 15 miles and not missed a beat - Is this a dream?

And for the moment it's "fingers crossed" and a huge pile of thanks to all you guys that have shown such support along with bucket loads of technical advice.

PS. Gearbox software question to follow.

Is the engine side of things completely solved now also? Runs fine once up to temp?

I'll forgive you for leaving it a week before you reply to those questions!

Well done.

Good news and Bad.

It seems like i now have an almost perfect gearbox - touch wood it now works better than it ever did, 25 miles & no slips or flashing arrow!!!

BUT

Guess what? As soon as engine makes it to the three O'clock position while in stop start traffic when in idle - she turns into a jibbering wreck - it almost feels like an ht lead or two has been pulled off but no problem once moving!?!?

Thanks for the good tidings - getting there.

Pozzouk.

PS. So you thought it was all over.......groan.
