Hi, just posted in the wanted section. Thought I would post in here too.

Do you have a Drivers seatbelt. I'm not fussed about colour, but condition needs to be MOT passable.

S40 and V40 will be the same right?

Thanks.

Hi alex,

This is definitely the m56 box and non gdi engine yeah?

was there and knocks or rattles out of the drive train?
i have suspected DMF failure to compound my clutch issues at the minute.

I know a new one is the proper way to go, but cant afford a new one.

how much would you want for the flywheel?

Default vvti solenoid ?

Hi Gatos.
I have the dreaded vvti pulley problem in my late '01,phase 2, 1.6v40. I disconnected the solenoid valve and the noise level dropped by a few thousand decibels, however the warning light came on. So i made a blanking gasket and fitted it under the solenoid housing and reconnected the electrics, The warning light is extinguished again but a different rattle noise is apparent. I think the oil ways need to be unobstructed to keep some pressure in the vvt pulley?
so basically my plan now is remove the blanking plate so that the engine runs as quiet as possible again. But as i dont want the warning light, i now need a second solenoid to connect the plug to. It will be lashed tightly out of harms way. I surmise these solenoids are the same across engines ( 9454789 crops up a lot - i haven't recorded the number on mine).
can you help pal?

Ideally you should replace the VVT, but then again, considering the cost and the work it involves, I don't blame you. There are two different types of VVT solenoids. The ones on all NA engines with the VVT on the inlet side and the turbo ones with the VVT on the exhaust side. So obviously the one I have is from the NA 1.8 engine which will be the same as yours.
