v90 (3.0 litre auto)
P Reg, 140k miles

Just done 28 mpg, twice on two 450 mile trips.
Car was well loaded too.
Possibly could be higher, as 30 miles of that were local journeys and the last trip included 1 hour to do 6km...

Hi, been on the mainland all week motorway driving mostly, approx 35mpg, best I,ve ever had.
I know I've rubbished supermarket petrol in previous posts, tesco,s is crap.
I achieved this on Asda petrol, and before this the most miles per tank was achieved using Asda petrol.

H reg 740 GLE estate 2.3Litre manual five speed box.
Hi all I finally got round to working out my holiday figures for this year.
So pulling the big heavy caravan to our holiday destination and a few miles while there was 22.75mpg, And towing it back and a few more miles local was 24.71mpg.
Just driving local stop start is giving me 26.15 to 27.08mpg so quite happy overall.
Regards Brian.

That's really good DWM. Steady 75 in mine seems to produce 32mpg - I'd be gobsmacked by 37. All the more cash for cheese and wine!

If I drive like my Grandma's Grandma I can get 34mpg on a run, usually around 27mpg on short journeys. Its a 2.3LPT estate with m90.

Regular oil changes, new dizzy cap, plugs etc seem to do the trick, and although it seems obvious and has been said many times on this thread, feathering the throttle really works. Keeping it below 2500rpm-ish before the boost makes a massive difference in mine.

I get a fair few comments along the lines of "that must be expensive to run" etc but considering the amount I've saved on repair costs, parts etc compared to their modern euroboxes I'm in the money...

My previous 940 LPT did 25-27 mpg everywhere with just minor maintenance ( plugs , air filter) , but I think the MAF meter was on it's way out.
My "new" 940 LPT (96 N reg- the old one was 96 M reg) has had only minor services in 130000 miles , yet has averaged 34-35 mpg in the two weeks I've owned him ( Sven - blame the wife! ).
Haven't a clue as to the difference!
Paul.
